Rumors have been going around about Hillcrest Restaurant & Bakery in Littlestown PA closing its doors, though unconfirmed by them publicly. The last day of service was this past Christmas Eve. Many local residents are upset due to this being a local country landmark for Adams County, one known for some amazing chicken and home-made atmosphere.
An ad was placed in the newspaper for the sale of equipment from the restaurant. We are told the owner is retiring and that there was some unfortunate behind-the-scenes events that helped lead to the closing of the restaurant. We have no desire to open any of that up, obviously. We at Gettysburg Wire wish the family of Hillcrest well and hope that their future endeavors allow some positive motion moving forward. They will certainly be missed.
Additional rumors are circulating that a church may use the property, but this is also unconfirmed by us.
Do you know if we can contact the previous owners for a recipe? They made a fabulous fruit nut cookie bar. My mother loved them. I would like to make them for her and the residents at Autumn House. I’d appreciate any help you can give, thanks so much.
